Maria Andrea Soco, Ph.D.

Andrea Soco holds a Master’s degree in Applied Sociology (2003) from the National University of Singapore and a Bachelor’s degree in the Social Sciences (1999) from the Ateneo de Manila University. She has done extensive research on urban poverty and the informal sector and has written commentaries for leading newspapers, having been a Research Assistant and a Project Officer of the Institute on Church and Social Issues, a Jesuit-run organization that does policy research and advocacy on pertinent social issues. Her research interests include migration, multiculturalism, diaspora and identity, and social development. Other interests include travel and literature.
